After the US Congress, Taiwan banned Deepsek from government agencies citing security risks

Taiwan has prevented all government agencies and important infrastructure providers from using AI technology developed by Chinese Startup Deepsek citing security risks. The island’s Ministry of Digital Affairs issued a statement on Friday, which warned that the operation of Deepsek gave rise to dangers such as cross -border data transmission and possible information leaks.
In January, Deepsek attracted global attention with the release of its open-source AI platform, showing advanced human-like arguments. The efficiency of the platform, developed at an excerpt of its rivals, raised both enthusiasm and concerns about the reach of state -of -the -art AIs without mass hardware investment.
Topping in mobile download charts in many countries, the company’s free AI app quickly increased in popularity.
However, Deepsek faces the possibility of increasing investigation from governments and businesses at cyber security risks and data sharing with Chinese authorities. Italy’s privacy Watchdog has blocked the app, the UK has issued a warning, and the US Pentagon has banned the access. Additionally, hundreds of companies, including law firms, have stopped employees from using lampsac equipment.
Taiwan’s Digital Ministry emphasized that any official or confidential information should not be processed through Deepsek due to its Chinese origin. The ministry said, “This product is a threat to national information security.”
Similarly, according to an Exios report on Thursday, the offices of the US Congress have been warned against using the Chinese Artificial Intelligence Application Deepsek. AI technology causes a warning between data security and increasing concerns over foreign influences.
A notice issued by the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the US House of Representatives has allegedly advised the employees that Deepsek is currently reviewing and remains unauthorized for official use.
“At this time, the Dipsec is reviewing by the CAO and currently unauthorized for the use of the official home,” said, “is quoted by Axios.
This warning aligns with a comprehensive investigation into Chinese technology within the US government, which has previously taken action against Chinese firms on national security concerns.
