Shalini Pandey on Struggles Post Arjun Reddy, being sidelined in discussions: ‘They wanted me to be bubbly, show my dimples, and look beautiful’

Shalini Pandey, who made his debut with Vijay Dewakonda with Sandeep Reddy Wanga’s 2017 Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy, opened about the conflicts that faced the film recently despite the film’s huge success. The actress shared how she often feels sidelined in discussions and has to play “dumb” to hear.
Asked about the most difficult reality in the industry, Shalini told the Bollywood bubble, “When I initially came after Arjun Reddy, the most difficult bullet to swallow was that if I wanted to contribute something with the director, they would not take me seriously. As they will be, ‘Okay, don’t use your brain.’ And I think, ‘But I have a lot!’ They just wanted me to be bubbly, show my dimples, and look beautiful. But I am much more than this. ,
He further said, “Earlier, I used to play dumb to find my way out because I was alone and had to manage everything on my own. But I realized, no, I will not do it now. I don’t care if people feel strange about it or think that I am trying to do very smart work. I will ask questions, I will keep my feet down, and I will be heard.”
