Lava’s Provoatch X Review: Cheap smartwatch that does not compromise on performance. Mint

While the smartwatch segment in India is going through a slight crisis and many brands are also considering getting out of the segment, Lava has decided to double its efforts. 4,499, the new smartwatch from Lava sub-brand is an attempt to go head-to-head with premium offerings in the market. But is the home-developed brand successful in its effort? I have been testing Provatch X for the last 15 days and here is my detailed review of the new smartwatch.
Unboxing and design:
Contents
As a brand, the lava has been very consistent with providing a very premium unboxing experience, and PROWATCH X is certainly not a lapse for that trend. The new smartwatch comes in a rectangular package of a clean black color, on opening, which you congratulate all your glory with Provach X, followed by a magnetic pin charger, some stickers (which look great in my opinion) and a black paper (well played lava) with QR code for user manual.
Moving on the design, the clock comes with a circular performance with a curved glass that increases its personality. On the right, you get two buttons: first takes you to the menu and goes back to the home screen, the second exercise launch.
There are three options for lease: silicon, nylon and metal. Nylon’s strap looks best in my opinion, but it has become slightly loose for me after a few weeks, which makes silicon a sensible option.
Display:
The 1.43-inch 30 Hz AMOLED display on the clock is great for the price and also in bright outdoor. However, if you are bad for choice, this watch does not have the functionality of auto brightness like CMF Watch and you have to go to the menu to adjust the brightness.
On good part, the screen is preserved by corning’s gorilla glass 3, while the clock comes with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, which means that it can handle submerged in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
Another good thing here is that lava/provision offers a lot of watch faces to choose – they claim over 150 watch faces, but it is difficult to verify the actual number – and most of them are very good, which means that you will be able to adapt to the presence of smartwatches easily.
Functions:
The Provatch X comes with all the normal sensors for the price including heart rate monitor, spo monitor, body energy meter and even voice max tracking. The watch comes with the support of other important features with in-milk GPS and watch including air quality index (AQI) monitoring, Find My Phone, Women’s Health Tracking, Event Reminder, Pomodoro Timer, Barometer, Compass and Ultimeter.
Provatch focused a lot of focus on the accuracy of the smartwatch during our briefing session and I am happy to report that Provach X gave the same results for most of the metrics when putting against OnePlus Watch 2R – the way it costs more than this.
I also took a simple walk, where I ran exactly 100 steps and long with the results at the Provugent X and the number was very close, suggesting that the clock actually meets the company’s claims about accuracy.
In fact, a reason for concern for me was that some additional features provided by Provatch were very wrong. In particular, the AQI monitor is implemented by Provatch – although a welcome step especially for the US Delhi -NCR residents – shows AQI more than actually as much as it is. Similarly, the temperature shown by Provatch X was mostly wrong. However, these are not deal breakers and can be easily fixed with software updates.
software:
Talking about the software, the Provatch X comes with the company’s ownership UI that works well. The clock is associated with the appropriate app that helps users to track health matrix like heart rate, day -to -day steps, and more.
The two issues with the clock which you will immediately notice that the touch response it is not great, but the price point must be expected to consider. Second, the vibration from the clock is not only bad. It is unpleasant borderline and you will be forced to close it as soon as possible.
Another minor problem with me is with the clock that this notification comes with a very limited set for tunes (both calls and information), which are not great and cut a lot on the user experience which is otherwise a very decent product. Then, this is something that the lava can easily fix with the software updates.
Bluetooth calling:
The Provatch X is capable of accepting and rejecting calls and is also an alternative to set some pre -determined messages (set by the Prosot app) when rejecting the call. There is also an in-milk dialer that can be used to dial any number and also add 10 preferred contacts that can be dialed directly as a watch. The quality of the call is decent, but there is nothing to boast about speakers.
battery life:
The PROWATCH X is equipped with a 300mAh battery, which the company claims that one can last up to 8–10 days on a charge. While this promise was mostly true, there are two caves to connect here. First of all, you will definitely find a battery life of more than a week, but if you always have stopped performance (which is by default). If your turn is on the AOD, the battery life falls for about 4 days in my experience.
Second, the battery falls very fast after reaching a 20 percent mark. This is not a major issue and the clock eventually reduces more or less promised battery life, but something that I thought you are worth noting here, when you buy the watch.
Decision: worth the price?
Lava’s proch X punches over its weight in many categories, adding many important characteristics such as spo monitor, body energy meter and voice max tracking. This smartwatch is either not correct, including some major issues with poor hiptic feedback, limited ringtone options and some software optimization issues.
However, PROWATCH X Basics-Opening-looking and durable build quality, accurate tracking metrics, in-watch diailers, long battery life and support for Bluetooth calls with a good quality AMOLED display-distributes it to a certain purchase on my list.
