X: K-POP Group Interview in Interview: Defense, their creative process and India connection on their third mini album

For Multi-National C-Pop Group X: In, working on your latest mini album Defend yourself There has been a deep reflective and personal journey.

Five member groups – which include Korean members E: Sha, Niz, and Hannah, Russian members Nova and Indian members Aria – is currently based on the release of the album in May. When the group started in 2023, they attracted significant attention in India to be a member of Kerala, Aria. Aria K-Pop is one of some artists of Indian origin, including Sriya Lenaka from Odisha, a part of the K-Pop group Blackswaan.

Introduction Defend yourselfThe group also consciously emphasizes protecting itself in the songs of this third mini-album among all chaos. “We focus on the weaknesses and challenges of being in the spotlight. We were all eager in the creation of this album,” E: SHA, the leader of the group says. Speaking to Seoul through zoom calls, groups all smile and thus are eager to talk about their journey, and what is next.

While he has actively part of the creative process and his songs in the past, Aria has called their growing participation Defend yourself A ‘huge step stone’. “This was an important learning experience for us,” she says.

Since its inception in April 2023, X: Inn has released two mini albums and has specially collaborated with Russian singer Tsoy on digital single ‘Seoul-Moskwa’, which featured songs in Russian, English and Korean.

Of four tracks Defend yourselfThe title track ‘Attention Sikar’ discovers the image, vulnerability and longing of the members and at the same time it is seen what it takes to be their authentic itself. A clever music video painted on the group was also shot in a desert, and Hannah remembers how they initially worried about wearing sandals and wearing slippers in dust and heat there, and possible snake views. While they are thankful that there was no reptile encounter, Nova laughed and said how much of the air was. She says, “We put a shot to move our dress around us and flutter, only to stop the minutes of the winds we started shooting,” she says.

The autobiographical track ‘approximately Dun’, however, appears to be a favorite of the group, which chronic the work they do through their development and difficult times. “It seemed special to write the song for this song because I felt that it shows my story, and my journey in the industry. It was a difficult track, but I like how the song seems and our voice is well mixed,” Nova says. Hannah said, “I can imagine myself on stage, and how will I express myself while performing this song.”

NIZZ, for ‘Bitter Love’, a song that expresses the emotional push and bridge of a complex relationship, presented a different challenge. “Unlike other songs that were experience-based, we had to write it with our imagination and it was a fun creative process,” she remembers. The high-energy vowel is an integrated factor through all four songs and ‘Saba’ songs and also mixes it with strong home music effects.

Since their onset, members accept various fields where they have been able to see their development and development as artists. For example, it was difficult to sing and dance at the same time. Over the years, I have got used to it and instead of worrying about it, I now recognize that it is a part of the job and goes with flow, “E: Sh says.

X: At the K-Wave Festival in Bangalore in 2023 and Umrangaso in 2024, Falcon Festival in Assam twice in India. For Aria, performing in your country has always felt special. “I did not initially know what to expect during our first performance in Bengaluru, but the energy was amazing. Knowing that I am special for him, I feel a sense of responsibility and happiness that I am representing the country,” she says. Other members share their enthusiasm to perform here, and Nova says they are always excited to come to India. “We recharge from our audience, and it has always been a wonderful performance in India,” she says.

Three mini albums, Nova, now expect them to work on a whole length music album soon. Post the release of Defend yourselfHannah says, the group has not shown any signs of slowing down for the remaining year, and there is a pack wish list for 2025. “We hope to travel more countries and meet our fans. The performance on the more stage is something we really see,” Aria says.
