WhatsApp is allegedly developing a new feature for its iOS app that will allow users to connect their Instagram profiles to their WhatsApp accounts. The feature discovered by WhatsApp feature tracker webtanfo is currently under beta test and is available for a limited number of examiners.

According to WABETAINFO, this feature was seen in WhatsApp beta for the iOS version 25.7.10.70. Once implemented, users will have the option to display their Instagram profile link on their WhatsApp profile.

In addition, the link is expected to appear below the user’s profile picture and the name, which increases visibility for those who want to add their accounts to the meta-owned platforms.

Allegedly, users will also be given the ability to control who can see their linked Instagram profiles. WhatsApp is said to be offered a series of privacy settings, with “everyone,” my contacts, “except for my contacts,” and “no one.” This can ensure that the user maintains complete control over their profile visibility and privacy preferences. This feature will be completely optional, so that users can decide whether they want to link their Instagram account.

Currently, Instagram is the only social media platform supported by this feature. However, there are speculation that WhatsApp can expand support for other platforms, especially Facebook and Threads, is both owned by meta.
