Unpleasant voices within the Malayalam film industry on the Partial collection figure of the Producers Association

The Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA) has not gone down well with many from within the industry to publish box-office collection figures. Filmmaker and producers who Hindu Talked to pointing on the “unfairness” of excluding partial collection figures as the association has published only the share of manufacturers from Kerala Theater except for foreign revenue, OTT revenue and share of exhibitions.
“This is not appropriate if they only stake the manufacturers from Kerala, even successful films look like failures at the box office. Even when you make a budget of the film, all possible returns including foreign revenue and OTT rights are taken into consideration. Publishing such partial data will also affect the future sale of these films.

According to data released by KFPA for 17 Malayalam films released in February 2025, only Duty officer Kunchko was a hit starring Boban, while Contenders And Bromance Can also break. The association claimed that the total budget of films released in February was ₹ 75.23 crore. The manufacturers received a total dramatic collection share of only ₹ 23.55 crore.

KFPA Vice President G. Suresh Kumar told that when asked about the reason for leaving the rest of the revenue from the list Hindu Manufacturers only need to talk about their part of the collection.
