Born in Kanpur, Deb Mukherjee was part of the famous Mukherjee-Samarth family, whose participation with the film industry is up to four generations, which began in the 1930s. His mother, Satiidevi, Ashok Kumar, Anup Kumar and Kishore Kumar were the only sister.
