This Telugu remake of ‘Shivarpalli’ web series review: ‘Panchayat’ has been uplifted by solid performances

While remakes are common in feature films, the concept of targeting hyper-local markets using successful materials is also getting traction in OTT space. The digital medium is concluded on the idea of overcoming the ‘two-inch barrier’ (subtitle), allowing stories to cross the language obstacles. Nevertheless, platforms continue commission near frame-by-frame optimization to draw a new set of viewers.
Over the years, villages have served as a background for various styles, including political greens to drama, comedy, thriller, action-pack entertainment and romance. Amazon Prime Video’s eight-episode series ShivarpalliRemake of TVF’s hit show PanchayatTakes a middle route, an urban young man through the perspective of the rural drama.

In the near future, he accepts the role of reluctance and starts his journey in an unfamiliar environment, hoping to clean the GMAT in the near future and move to the United States. Gradually, the path of the village and his life grows on it, although not without the proper part of the challenges on the way.

For Anward, the show offers a mild and bizarre glimpse in a fictional village power dynamics and worldly routine. As a traditional Telugu is unique in rural drama, it is evident from caste, religion and political realities. Its primary objective is to find out the uncertainty of the hero reflecting the essence of the region through the selection of ‘informal’ issues.
A few days in his new role, Shyam finds himself in trouble for organizing a government campaign with slogans, “One who does not educate a girl is a donkey.” He later reprimanded a teacher to smoke ganja and spread rumors about a haunted tree. Shyam also encourages Sarpanch, Susala (Rupa Lakshmi), which helps to become literate and to tell the national anthem with confidence before Republic Day.
The impractical Shyam causes an uproar about issues – surprised, shocked, and often leaves in a loss. The village is painted its essence without romantic or reducing, there is a balance that refreshes and understanding, especially for the Telugu audience. Free from exaggerated drama or acute emotions, statusable humor and conjunctive dialogue, with satire, move the show smoothly.
However, the resolve of social issues in the story seems highly hygiene and sugar, not carefully designed to make anyone angry. The show’s heart Shyam, Mitt Sudhakar (played by Sarpanch’s husband, Muralidhar Gaud), and his colleagues lies in the Bitterwight Camreder. They stand for each other, navigate their mood, and come together on drinks in the evening to forget their everyday struggles.
For familiar people PanchayatThe Telugu remake may feel highly conscious to preserve the ‘feel-gud’ essence of the origin. Director Bhaskar Maurya, known for Telugu Indi MuthayyaA textbook in its OTT debut saves the remake, but hesitate to experiment or offer a new perspective.
While the story often acts as a escapist cushion from reality, the absence of a strong local taste here is different from the potential effect of the show. Shivarpalli There could have been an opportunity to detect Telangana Nindlands with a new lens, while maintaining the lidback attraction Panchayat,
In fact, this remake increases its impeccable casting and stellar performance. The raga shines as a navigating life in a sleeping village as a boy from the city of Mayur, which still reflects a panoramic performance. His playful on-screen chemistry along with Uday Gurra, Muralidhar Gaud, and Sunny Palale breathed life in many scenes. Shivarpalli Pleasant despite your safe approach.

Muralidhar Gaud continues to excel in elderly roles, providing rustic Telangana slang while maintaining raw spontaneity in his performance. Roopa Laxmi, known for its work BalgamShines in a well -worthy full role. The beautifully occupied scene, sloppy lane, succulent greenery, and tight office places by Vasu Pendam bring to life, while Sinjith Yeramilli’s Komal still adds a compelling layer to the laughter score story.
Shivarpalli There is an easy watch, which could have been much more, with more ambition. Like PanchayatTamil remake, Thalytian palayamIts Telugu equivalent succeeds as a loyal adaptation, elevated by a strong artists and polish execution.
