Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Case: Accused Shereful Islam Shahzad files bail plea, claim case is ‘wrong’

Bangladesh allegedly arrested actor Saif Ali Khan for allegedly stabbing actor Saif Ali Khan, allegedly stabbing actor Saif Ali Khan, in January this court claimed in a court here that he was implicated in the case.

In a argument before the session court on Friday, the accused, Mohammad Tejal Islam Shahzad claimed that “the first information report (FIR) is clearly false and a false case has been registered against him”.

He also said that the police did not inform him about the basis of his arrest as his fundamental rights were compulsorily violated in the law.

The session court is expected to hear the petition on 1 April.

Mr. Khan (54) was stabbed several times with a knife by an intruder inside his 12th floor apartment in Upskel Bandra on 16 January, after which he underwent emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital.

Two days after the attack, the police arrested Tejalful.

In the argument, the accused claimed that his arrest was illegal, as the investigating agency “clearly and clearly disregarded” Section 47 of the Indian Citizen Suffering Sanhita (BNSS), which informs a person about his arrest and informs about the right to bail.

The argument states that even though the statements of the witnesses are taken as the truth of the gospel, without accepting anything on the record, for arguments, it will not be able to fulfill the component of the Indian Justice (BNS) Section 311 (robbery or robbery causes death or serious injury).

In a petition filed through Ajay Gawali, Tejal said that all necessary recovery and discovery were done, the investigation is practically completed, and only the filing of charge sheet is pending.

The bail argument stated that the accused has collaborated in the investigation and “will not be given any useful purpose in custody”.

At the time of Shariful’s arrest, his father claimed that it was a case of wrong identity and his son was not seen in CCTV footage from inside the actor’s building.

However, the claim was rejected by the police, stating that it depends on facial recognition technology.
