Ranveer Allahbadia Ro: SC wants the reaction of Maharashtra, Assam on the petition of Utubar Ashish Chanchalani

The Supreme Court on Friday (February 21, 2025) sought a response from the governments of Maharashtra and Assam on a petition by Utubar Ashish Chanchala, which accused a petition for controlling or transferring the first information report (FIR) filed in Guwahati. Justice Surya Kant and N. A bench of Kotiswar Singh issued a notice and tagged the pending petition of Ranveer Allahbadia, who affected the petition of Mr. Chanchalani.

Mr. Allahbadia had approached the Supreme Court for protection from arrests, challenging several FIRs as an attempt to harass and rob his personal freedom.

In the case of Mr. Chanchalani, Gauhati High Court had already granted him interim bail.

The Guwahati police had filed an FIR against him on a complaint filed on 10 February, which was filed under various sections of the indecency of the Indian Nai Sanhia (BNS), Information Technology Act, Cinematographs Act and Women (Prohibition) Act. .
