In an interview with Today IndiaRana addressed the growing trend for displeasure over digital platforms. “Social media has become a place to create an opinion. Earlier, you did not have it. Nothing becomes very quick and political,” he said.

Later stated thug Life Audio said that Kannada was “born out of Tamil.” With a view to emphasizing cultural unity, the comment expressed displeasure among supporters-Canada groups in Karnataka, some of which called for a ban on the film. A formal complaint was also filed against the actor.

Asked how actors should navigate such situations, Rana emphasized the need to transfer social expectations. “If media and news, and people become smarter (and understand) that the actors are not to advocate the way of living the society, then it would be a better place,” he said. “I think you should see scholars, politicians and men and women to make a way in society.”

He attracted wrong attention to celebrities on more meaningful contributors in culture. “You will never bring a poet in the same stage … If the lens turns to more important and current things, the country will become a better place.”

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan has issued an explanation letter to the Karnataka film Chamber of Commerce, stating that his comments were incorrectly understood and the prince was “out of real affection” for the family, “There is no dispute or debate on the rich heritage of Kannada language.”
