Actor Rahul Bose said on Wednesday that he was earned by Karena Kapoor Khan for the 2003 film Jasmine Since she was a big star and could attract people to theaters.

Speaking in ‘Mardon Wali Weight’, a national conference on men, masculine and gender -based violence, Bose, Bose, humorously called himself a Starlet.

“Men are also Starlet, and I am a bright example of this … I was Starlet in ‘Chameli’, Kareena was a star; she still gets more people in the theater today.

“I have produced two films. I will not pay more than what I got. So I do not buy it (gender pay inequality); Film industry is super like that. You get money, you get paid, you get paid, you do not get money, you don’t get less payment …” Bose claimed that Bose claimed that the number of women working in the film industry is more than any other industry.

Discussing the depiction of manhood and violence against women in Indian cinema, the 57 -year -old actor admitted that cinema, being highly visible, often becomes a favorite “whipping boy”.

Bose said that it simply reflects the realities of society, for better or worse, and compared the cinema to the “loyal young brother” of the society.

“As soon as the elder brother does something, we take on a trend. This is the matter. We do not make a tendency, we latch on the tendency .. We want to see where the ‘wind’ is, what is catching, and then we raise it, sometimes you do it well, sometimes you don’t do it,” they explained.

Stars of acclaimed films like Bose, “Sri and Mrs. Iyer”, “The Japanese Wife”, “Jhankar Beats” said that all this starts with the society.

On depiction of violence against women, he said that since the 50s, the depiction has been inconsistent, neither improving nor decreasing significantly.

“I think the portrayal has been rocky, pachi, up and down,” he said.

Bose has directed only two films “Everyone says I am fine!” And “Poorna: Courage has no limit”, but he will take it to anything done in filmmaking because “this is the most challenging and surprising thing in the world”.

He said, “You have to become part architect, part interior designer, part psychologist, part painter, part musician, part lyricist, part actor. It is asking you to do everything in that moment in five minutes in five minutes.”

Bose, like many, considers Satyajit Ray an inspiration.

“Ray was very good because he was a polymath, he could do 19 things. He worked the camera, he composed music, he was working with Ravi Shankar, he is calling. Ray Roman is a font, I mean, man was a friend, man was a friend, it is just amazing,” he said.
