Oscar 2025: ‘I am still here’ Beats ‘Emilia Perez’, became the first Brazilian film to win the Best International Feature

Brazilian political drama I’m still here Won the prestigious award for the Best International Feature Film at the 97th Academy Awards. Film directed by Walter Salles (Motorcycle diary), Rerelened on controversial heavyweight Emilia Perez as well as Flow, pure seed And Girl with needle.

This is the first time a Brazilian film has won the best international feature. Set during and after military dictatorship in Brazil, the film narrated the story of Younis Piva (played in the film by Fernanda Montenegro), a woman who deal with her husband’s forced disappearance.

Writers Murillo Hausar and Heter Lorega adapted the story I’m still here Marcelo Rubens Paiva, from the memoir of Eunice’s son.

In review of I’m still here, Hindu It is written: “Two decades later Salles on the life-long road trip of motorcycle diaries, Che Guevara and his friend Alberto Granado comes in South America, with a high political film that speaks in the present time.”
