OnePlus 13S vs. iPhone 16E: Comparison of two major contenders. Mint

Earlier this year, in February 2025, Apple launched the iPhone 16e, which was a new entry into its iPhone 16 lineup. Rapid forward to June 2025, and OnePlus has unveiled the OnePlus 13S in India today (June 5), a feature-rich Android smartphone that challenges the offer of Apple directly in the premium mid-range segment.
While both smartphones are targeting uniform audiences, a close look at their on-paper specifications reveals notable differences that can affect the purchase decisions.

In terms of pricing, OnePlus 13S clearly is to reduce its competition. It starts 54,999 for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variants, while a high-end model with 512GB storage is priced 59,999. The phone will be available from June 12 through Amazon India, OnePlus online store, and retail outlets, including pre-order already live and promotional offers, including discounts and exchange bonuses. In contrast, the iPhone starts at 16E Aadhaar 128GB model with 59,999, 256GB and 512GB variants 69,999 and 89,900 respectively.

Display-wise, OnePlus 13S has a 6.32-inch Ltpo AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,600 nits. It also supports Aqua Touch 2.0 and glove mode for high-existing PWM dimming, weight-finger purposes. In comparison, the iPhone 16E is a slightly smaller 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display. While the screen color of Apple is famous for accuracy and HDR capabilities, it is probably likely to be operated on 60Hz, the fresh rate is falling behind the OnePlus in terms of lubrication. On paper, OnePlus display provides a more advanced experience, especially for gaming and multimedia consumption.

Under the hood, the OnePlus 13s is powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset, which is paired with Swift App performance and data access with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The phone runs with Oxygenos 15 skin of OnePlus on Android 15, which is known for its fluid interface and customicability. Meanwhile, Apple, Emphone, equips 16E with its latest A18 chip, promoting 80 percent of the performance on the A13 bionic. A 4-core GPU increases graphics processing, while the 16-core nerve engine machine supports machine learning functions. Apple has also introduced its first in-house modem, C1 chip, designed to improve 5G connectivity and power efficiency. Although the OnePlus mixes more RAM and storage in the mixture, Apple’s hardware-software optimization, combined with its custom silicon, ensures the performance of the top level real world.
When it comes to software features and AI integration, OnePlus takes an aggressive stance with its new “OnePlus AI” suit. It contains camera-centered tools such as AI-Detail Boost, AI Anabling, AI Reflection Eraser, and AI reframe, such as a new feature called AI Translation, Vioceb, Call Assistant, and a new feature called AI Plus Mind Space for content organization. Apple also gains an edge in security and emergency facilities. The iPhone 16E finds crash detection, emergency SOS satellite, roadside assistance, and my via satellite -abilities that are unmatched in Android Ecosystem. OnePlus 13s provides an in-display fingerprint sensor and standard Android security features, but lacks any comparable emergency integration.
On the connectivity front, OnePlus supports 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NAVIC and NFC for GPS positioning in India. Apple’s iPhone 16E also provides 5G connectivity and introduces its custom C1 modem, which increases network performance and battery efficiency. The inclusion of satellite-based services has made its connectivity capabilities more comprehensive, especially in remote areas.
OnePlus 13S vs. iPhone 16E: Decision
To do yoga, OnePlus 13S provides a tremendous value on paper with top-level glasses, aggressive pricing and a rich suit of AI and productivity features. This is a phone designed for users that prefer raw performance, performance quality and fast charging. The iPhone 16e, although more expensive, overall software polish, long -term support, emergency services and ecosystem integration, make it ideal for users who are already embedded in the Apple world or which prefer credibility, privacy and security.
Finally, the choice between the two depends on what more matters to the user: the customicability and spec advice of the onePlus, or the ecosystem harmony and user assurance of the Apple.
