Nokia 6 (2018) first look

It seems that HMD Global is very excited about its last year’s Nokia 6. Perhaps that is why the company is calling it a handset that will create new dimensions of success. At MWC 2018, the company praised the old Nokia 6 before unveiling the new Nokia 6 (2018). The company has a lot of expectations from the new Nokia 6 (2018). We tried our hands on the new Nokia 6 (2018) at MWC 2018, how was our first experience, know…
This new handset uses a single block of aluminium and has a metal plate inside to make it tougher. We spent some time with the handset and at first glance, it felt solid. The handset is 8.6 mm thick and an attempt has been made to give it a curved look by introducing straight lines. The phone feels good in the hand and there is no problem in operating it.

We got to see this phone in silver, blue and black colour variants. All the handsets have a touch of copper-bronze on the border, buttons and camera bump. It is possible that not everyone’s taste is the same in this case. A neutral colour option should have been given in it. It may suffer a bit due to the 16:9 aspect ratio screen. However, this is not wrong either. Smartphones of every price range in the market are coming equipped with 18:9 aspect ratio. Despite the low light at the Barcelona event, we are satisfied with its display and 5.5-inch screen.

Talking about the previous Nokia 6, there was a complaint that the phone was a bit expensive considering its features in its segment. This time the company has given Snapdragon 630 processor, up from the previous Snapdragon 430. We also liked the user interface of the phone. The variant we demoed runs on Android 8.1. It has the security patch of February 2018. We are sure that the company will not delay in giving updates in the coming time.

Nokia 6 (2018) will be listed in either 3GB/32GB or 4GB/64GB variants. HMD Global India VC Ajay Mehta says that the Nokia 6 will most likely launch in India with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. It is expected to hit the Indian market in May or June. We are also looking at the price of the handset, after which we will know how much the company has ‘learned’ from the previous complaints. We will also review the phone in detail after its launch in India.

The phone has a 16-megapixel camera at the rear, which is equipped with F/2.0 aperture. Zeiss optics have been used in the camera. Dual tone flash is also included in it. The front camera is 8 megapixels, it does not have the advantage of Zeiss. Video recording goes up to 4K. We will also explain the quality of the camera in detail after examining it in our review.

The new Nokia 6 (2018) looks much better than the old Nokia 6. We hope the company has priced it reasonably. We are waiting for its launch in India. Stay tuned to Gadgets 360. We will be back soon with more details on the handset’s camera quality, battery life, display quality, performance and more.
