The government of Maharashtra is set to host the largest AI program in Asia, Mumbai Tech Week (MTW) ​​2025 in partnership with Mumbai’s Tech Entrepreneur Association (Team).

Determined from 24 February to 1 March 2025, the program aims to strengthen the position of Mumbai as a growing center for artificial intelligence (AI) and technological innovation.

Role of AI in Governance and Business

After its inaugural edition in 2024, which was recognized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, MTW’25 is expected to bring major data from the government, industry and technology sector simultaneously. The event will focus on the role of AI in policy, governance and business along with discussion on the emergence of Mumbai as an important player in AI adoption.

Chief participant and speaker

MTW’25 will feature several participants, including policy makers, business leaders and technology experts. Among the government representatives set for speaking is Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry; Ashwini Vaishnav, Minister of Railways, Information and Broadcasting, Minister of Electronics and Information Technology; And Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Industry figures such as N. Chandrasekaran (President, Tata Sons), Uday Shankar (Vice President, Jio Star), and Akash Ambani (President, Reliance Jio Infocom) will also be present.

AI influence in industries

The incident will investigate the intersection of AI with various industries, and discussions will address the impact of AI on the fields ranging from retail and manufacturing to financial services and constructive industries.

Event schedule

Mumbai Tech Week 2025 will be in two phases. From 24 to 27 February, satellite events will be held across Mumbai, which will have workshops and hackthons. The main conference to be held at the Jio World Convention Center in BKC on 28 February and 1 March will include the main speech, panel discussion, firecusside chat and networking sessions.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis emphasized the government’s attention on technological development, citing the contribution of Mumbai to the country’s GDP and the importance of AI in economic development.

In 2024, the inaugural edition of Mumbai Tech Week saw participation from more than 4,000 attendees and 50 speakers. The event featured many industry participation, job placements and start-up pitch competition with more than 30 companies.
