Antony Perumbavur, producer of the film L2: EmpuranTuesday (April 1, 2025) dismissed the reports that actor Mohanlal had a lack of knowledge about the material in the film, which had invited online backlash on a large scale from right -wing supporters.

“We all knew about the story of the film, including Mohanlal, behind the film and I would not like to answer the reports, which otherwise says,” he said in Kochi.

Filmmaker Major Ravi had earlier said that the actor was not involved in the scripting or editing of the film and had not seen it even before its release.

Mr. Mohanlal expressed “regret” from his and the film’s team for “crisis due to his loved ones”.

In a Facebook post on March 30, he said that he knew that some political and social subjects which have been introduced in creating. ImpuanThe second part in the ‘Lucifer’ franchise has caused “great crisis for many of its loved ones”.

He said if he has agreed to cut ‘voluntary’ after ‘dangers’ from right -wing elements, Mr. Antony said, “It is our responsibility to improve this necessary, if the contents of the film also hurt a common man.”

Asked why the film’s script writer Murali Gopi has not yet shared the post by Mr. Mohanlal, Mr. Antony said that it was “a joint decision and there was no place for any dispute on it.” He said that there was no reason to separate Shri Prithviraj Sukumaran (Director) in the dispute.

He said that the audience has achieved the film well, going on the world by the gross collection of 200-crores earned worldwide on 31 March.

He also confirmed that the third installment in the film franchise ‘Lucifer’ would reach theaters.
