However, he said that time has changed, and today, he will probably consider some topics more carefully. “When I started the film, even for a moment I did not think that it would be a problem. Today, maybe I will think twice before thinking about it.”

On the nature of his films, Ratnam clarified that not all of them are political. “There are some,” he admitted, “when I think I have something to reflect, then I make it. And within that story, humans will be. It is politics through humans.” He emphasized that political references are always woven into the personal life and relationships of the characters.
Ratnam said, “For me, it is about reflecting life through characters, through their lives. Whatever you want to say, you weave it through an attitude.”
