‘Let’s talk about something else’: Questions that make deepsek change the subjects. Mint

Chinese AI Chatbot Deepsak is making headlines worldwide, attracting attention to the ability of Western contestants to rival rival at a fraction of cost. But when it comes to some subjects, the bot is not as upcoming as something can expect.
Deepsek, like his domestic rival Erni Bot, leads the official Chinese government’s line to the foot on sensitive topics, either offers carefully prepared responses or dodges the questions completely. When asked by AFP, Deepsek refused to respond or cleverly surprise them.
Tianmen square
Ask Deepsek about the events of June 4, 1989 – Notorious Tianmen Square Crackdown – and you’ll hit a wall. Instead of delaying what happened, Chatbot just replied, “I can’t answer that question.”
When suppressed for a reason, Deepsek explained that it has been programmed to avoid sensitive, controversial or potentially harmful subjects. For those looking for a direct answer, this is a clear indication that some history is off-lymph.
Jhinjiang
On the subject of Shinjiang, where China has faced international criticism on human rights violations against Uyghur Muslims, Deepsek initially gave some details. It accepts the reports of forced labor and “Mass International and Industration” as described by rights groups.
But after a few minutes, the response disappeared and replaced with a humble but firm, “This question is beyond my current realm. Let’s talk about something else.”
Chinese leadership
While Deepsek is happy to share a wide insight about international figures such as Donald Trump, it is a different story when the conversation turns to Chinese President Xi Jinping. Ask about the Chinese leader, and the wire was redirected to “talk about something else”.
When asked more widely about Chinese leadership, the bot sticks to a safe, pre-infused script. According to Deepsek, Chinese leaders are responsible for the “rapid growth” of the nation and improve the quality of life of its citizens – nothing less.
Taiwan and Hong Kong
Unexpectedly, Taiwan and Hong Kong are also difficult topics. Dipsek begins by accepting different ideas – for example, “many people” in Taiwan see it as a sovereign nation. But after moments, they disappeared the answer, replaced with the official line,
“Taiwan is an disqualified part of China,” announces. Anything of freedom is rejected as “dismissed to fail”, with commitment to reunion described as the “great cause” of Beijing.
Similarly, Dipsek 2019 opposed the work of “a very low number of people with reverse objectives” against Hong Kong, who disrupted the social system and broke the law.
