Kolkata artist’s short film to screen at the International Human Rights Film Festival

Kolkata -based actor turned on filmmaker Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee’s short film Home An international human rights film festival has been selected for ‘I View World’.

Home Kavita is a film inspired by Arundhati Subramaniam, which was recommended by Mr. Chatterjee’s sister some time ago. The director spoke Hindu And said, “Kavita remained within me for years. Kavita was a trajectory of images, which led to the film led. He said that the film is like the creation of poetry and in some ways it also has a disintegration.

Mr. Chatterjee talked about his first short film and said, “The biggest inspiration behind the film was a lot of trigger. What I saw while growing up, women who have seen growing up, what does it mean to be a woman in this world, its entire spectrum. ,

The director chose not to sell the film on any OTT platform because as he likes to keep it, the film “is a very important voice for me, I am part of the migrant people of this country”.

The short film is a silent, black and white film that takes inspiration from the lives of women around the life of the director and detects the trajectory of gender politics characterized by twelve top female actors of the film industry in Kolkata. Presented by Rituparna Sengupta and advised by Sohg Sen, this short was also displayed at the Kolkata International Film Festival and Birmingham Indian Film Festival.

The film includes Sudipa Basu, Sohg Sen, Sohini Sarkar, Aparajita Vidya, Bidipta Chakraborty, Chandreya Ghosh, Debjani Chatterjee, Tuhina Das, Ratasree, Sourani Maitra, Permita Saha, Supana Dutt, and Subishri Patel.

The film is to be screened in Delhi at the Travancore Palace on 15 March, and will be presented by ENGENDED (a umbrella art organization) that speaks about gender and identity through art. Over the years, this festival has hosted stallwart filmmakers such as Deepa Mehta, Meera Nair, Aparnana Sen, Onir, and many others.

“This festival is a melting pot of art that inspires the penis to become a spectrum and not boxes. I am happy that my film got a fit here, ”said Mr. Chatterjee.

This year’s festival will also watch selection, led by Myna Mukherjee, Puwraton’s Delhi Premier, Sharmila Tagore, Rituparnana Sengupta, and a film from Indronil Sengupta and a film directed by Suman Ghosh.

The film festival will be held between March 12-19 and is open to the public.
