On Wednesday, MP/MLA Special Court A hearing in treason and Defamation case Bollywood actress and BJP MP Mandi, Kangana Ranaut. He has been accused of allegedly insulting the farmers by the accused Ramshankar Sharma (plaintiff), who filed a case against him on 11 September 2024.
According to the ABP news report, in the last hearing, Kangana Ranaut’s lawyers appeared in the court and sought additional time to file documents related to the case. The court approved this request and allowed time to a response. However, in today’s hearing, Kangana Ranaut’s lawyer was absent, and no response was filed.
As stated by the plaintiff’s lawyer, the next hearing has been scheduled for April 16, 2025.
Complaint against Kangana Ranaut
In his complaint, the plaintiff alleged that Kangana made derogatory remarks against the farmers. The allegations said Kangana called the killers and rapists of the farmers. The complaint also accused him of insulting Mahatma Gandhi’s non -violence and the principles of freedom fighters, claiming that India’s freedom was achieved through Gandhi’s “begging bowls”.
The statements of senior advocate Ramshankar Sharma (Wadi), witness Rajendra Gupta Dheeraj Advocate and Ajay Sagar Nimesh Advocate were recorded at the last hearing.
Kangana Ranaut did not appear in court despite notice
Following the statements of the plaintiff’s lawyer and witnesses, the court issued notices, which were sent to Kangana Ranaut and on three different occasions they were sent to Kullu-Manali and his address in Delhi. According to the notices, Kanagan was asked to personally present in court or send his stance to his lawyer as a representative to clarify the case.
Allegedly, despite notices, Kangana Ranaut did not appear before the court.
