JVC 55-inch QLED TV Review: Budget Smart TV which is mostly correct. Mint

Japanese electronics manufacturer JVC re -entered the Indian market through a licensing agreement with Super Plastronics Private Limited (SPPL) earlier this year and has since introduced a series of smart TVs in partnership with Amazon. I have been using the recently launched JVC 55-inch QLED TV for a few months, and here are two bits of how the Japanese company performed with its new offering.
Unboxing:
Inside the JVC TV box, you are congratulated by a 55 -inch QLD panel, a metal stand, a wall mount, four screws, a remote with AAA batteries and some paperwork.
If you are not going to install the TV, the metal stand is really great and the qled panel is strong enough to handle it easily. This cannot be said for remote control that comes with TV. It sounds cheap and the JVC branding stopped downwards after a few days of use. I hope that JVC improves the shelf life of remote in its next repetition of TV.
In addition, I did not notice any major glitter, the response time is good and the voice command works as expected. Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, Netflix and App are the bottom of the four hots for the menu. (Unfortunately, there is no alternative to Jiohotstar).
Performance and Connectivity:
The show’s star is a 55 -inch coin panel with 3840 x 2160 pixels, HDR support and 60Hz refresh rate resolution. There are very slim bezels around the panel, with a plastic chin below that the JVC gives the house to branding, just below which has a power button to turn on the TV and when you forgot the remote.
To be honest, I did not have high expectations for the quality of this TV picture, but the results were anything but what I expected. The IPS panel on this TV is capable of reproducing sharp and vibrant colors that are pleasing to the eye. On close inspection, however, you will see that there is some deficiency in very dark scenes, as it is not an OLED panel, but it is something that you have to do at this price point.
A region where I think there is space for improvement, in some scenarios there is inability of TV in reproducing human skin tones, which is not a major problem, but something is something that can be worked in future repetitions.
Pairing the display is a 60-watt speaker setup with dolby atomos support. Speakers get very loud here, and the audio quality is such that you will not really feel the need for an additional soundbar unless you are an audiofile or want to rebuild that theater-like surround sound setup. I found myself by using a maximum amount of 30–40 percent of the TV (which was enough for my use), but there is some distortion when going in more than 50 percent.
In terms of connectivity, you get 3 HDMI ports and 2 USB 2.0 ports, with three pins for plugging in your set-top box or gaming console. The TV Bluetooth version of JVC also comes with 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi and Built-in Google Chromecast, which means that you can share your smartphone screen content on TV.
software:
The JVC 55 -inch QILE TV runs out of the box on Android 11, with the latest security patch until September 2024. The TV runs with the support of 2GB RAM and 16GB storage on a realtek processor (unspecified).
In my experience, it took about 35–40 seconds for JVC to boot and reach the home page, which is equal to the course. Hotstar, Geosinema (yes, this TV was launched before merger), ZEE5, YouTube and Youtube music are some pre-installed apps, most of which may uninstall or disable if necessary.
Since it is a proper Android TV, you get support for the Play Store, which can be used to download the additional app. Sideloading apps from USB Stick also did a good job.
While my experience with TV’s software was largely satisfactory, there was an issue with Wi-Fi that left a little taste in my mouth. That is, on most occasions, I noticed that it would not automatically connect to my Wi-Fi until I went to the Wi-Fi settings manually, the point at which it would start connecting.
Another bug I encountered one or two times that UI sometimes stops responding while running the Jiohotstar app. It is worth indicating that these issues are not deals-breakers and JVC/SPPL can easily fix them through OTA updates.
Decision:
Price of 35999, JVC’s 55 -inch QLD TV offers its impressive screen quality, loud and porous speakers, stylish design and money with a host of connectivity options.
While the TV has some obvious flaws, such as a cheap remote, an old Android 11 OS and minor software bug, I think it does its primary function – disbursing crisp, immersive visuals – is sufficient to justify being a strong contender in your segment.
