The cross-platform encrypted messaging between iPhone and Android is coming soon, thanks to the updated rich communication services (RCS) standards. The GSM Association has announced that the latest RCS specifications now include end-to-end encryption based on messaging layer security protocol. This success was initially launched back in September, finally will allow safe, encrypted messaging between various mobile platforms.

End of fragmented message safety
Apple rolled out RCS support for iPhones with iOS 18 updates in September. While IMessage had an end-to-end encryption for age, this security facility did not take on RCS messaging as the previous standards could not handle only cross-platform encryption.
