Infinix Note 50s 5G Review: The most balanced phone under ₹ 20,000 | Mint

Infinix landed for a slow start in the new year, in which the first phone was not launched until March. However, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has made huge progress in the smartphone market with its latest offer, Note 50. The new Infinix phone not only resolves some issues with the previous model, but also offers several new features including a curved AMOLED display, sleek design and an in-display fingerprint sensor, with all for the starting price of all 15,999.

I have been using the Note 50s for the last few weeks and here are two bits of how the device performed in the real world.

Unboxing and design:

Inside the Classic Green Box of Infinix Note 50, you get the device for a device wrapped inside a plastic sheet, type C cable, a 45W charging brick, SIM Ejector Tool, a color match cover and some paperwork that you will never find to read.

The note comes in three Kolorway in the 50s, the review unit I found, it came with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage in titanium gray color. However, I found a brief hand on experience with Marine Drift (Blue) color that comes with vegetarian leather and this version is definitely looking more premium of three variants.

This version of the Note 50s does not have the facility of fragrance technique of infinix, so I could not test that innovation, but let’s take a look at the rest of the design.

The note looks like 50x in the 50s and seems to be reviewed last month. This camera comes with the same ‘gem cut’ design for modules and the subtle infinix branding and even the case includes the same.

Note 50 feels and the note looks like 50x, which I reviewed earlier this month. It has the same ‘gem cut’ design for the camera module and the subtle infinix branding at the bottom. Even the involved case looks the same – and still ranks in my favorite bundle matters.

What has changed then? Infinix has made this phone thinner and light, which measures just 7.6 mm thickness and only 180 grams weight. The back panels and frames are paired with curved edges, this phone becomes easy on hands and is also very comfortable to move around in jeans’ pockets.

The phone comes with MIL-STD-810H Certification and IP64 rating for water and dust resistance. Not only is that additional bit by adding a slimmer profile to the infinix to carry good elements from your previous phone, but also by adding a slimmer profile to it.

Display:

In the Note 50s, 6.78-inch full HD+ 3D curved AMOLED display is with 144hz refresh rate. It provides a gloss of the peak of 1300 nits and is preserved by Gorilla Glass 5 Corning.

Performance seems absolutely surprising for the price. It distributes porous colors, deep blacks and a solid dynamic range, resulting in an immersive viewing experience and marks a major upgrade from the 720p panel on the note 50X. Slim bezels around the screen help to obtain an impressive 89.8 percent screen-to-body ratio.

Another notable upgrade is in addition to stereo speakers with JBL branding. Unlike Note 50x, the quality of the speaker here is really quite good. I really enjoyed listening to music and watching the video using the built-in speaker.
Camera:

Infinix Note 50s 64MP Sony IMX682 comes with primary shooter, 2MP secondary shooter and 13MP front-facing shooter. While a lot is liked about this camera setup, the first and most important thing is that both front and back cameras are able to record 4K videos on 30fps.

Second, the 64MP main sensor is actually a very capable shooter for the price. In daylight, images captured with note 50 look sharp and color looks very close to natural tones but the color tone for human subjects can be on the soft side.

Even in the event of low light or artificial lighting, the primary shooter can specifically explain the price point. Like other Infinix smartphones I have reviewed in the past, the note struggles with colored objects in the low light landscape in the 50s, a billboard or a night lamp says there are still some improvements compared to its predecessors.

The output from the selfie camera is slightly better than my expectation, it can capture adequate details close to the natural skin tone and in the event of a good lighting, but the sensor may struggle slightly in the event of low lighting.

Overall, I say that the notes are one of the best camera phones from Infinix and while it cannot win the award for its photography skills, the phone is still going to give a tough competition to many other equipment in this segment.

Software and Battery:

Note 50s XOS 15 is operated by Android 15 based on Android 15 and Infinix has promised 2 years OS update and 3 -year security patch with this device.

I have already shared my detailed views on XOS 15 during the Note 50X review, but only to repeat things in brief. The XOS15 is advertising-free and has no blotware and limited first party apps. The UI has a lot of AI characteristics such as Circle to search, AIGC portrait mode, AI -produced wallpaper and Folax Voice Assistant, but most of these features currently have a lack of nuances and in fact there is nothing that most users get to use everyday.

The really useful features that come up with XOS are dynamic bars (acts like dynamic island on iPhones), smart panels (similar to OnePlus and Oppo) and social assistants (the basic feature of Infinix that is used during WhatsApp calls). Another thing that I really like about XOS 15 is the ability to customize colors not only on the home screen but also on the notification panel and home screen.

While walking on the battery, Note 50s packed the 5,500mAh setup with 45W fast charging (adapter supplied inside the box). It took about one hour and 20 minutes to take the phone from 0 – 100 and the battery easily lasted for more than a day to click on some pictures and streaming some videos.

Display:

The Note 50s has been operated by MediaTek Demistance 7300 ultimat processor and as I said in my Note 50X review that there is nothing ‘ultimate’ about this processor, this CMF Phone 1 (Review), IQO Z10X (Review) (Review), Oppo F29 Pro and Lava Agni 3 (Review) are similar to the choice of 7300. And this writer feels annoyed to try to pull this scam on users by adding this scam to this scam accurately, as an accurate, pro accurately selling this scam.

If you are living under a rock, it is a very stable chipset that has no history of heating issues or leggings and even offered a lot of liquid performance with light gaming capacity, but it is not strictly designed for gamers as the benchmark clearly indicates.

Talking about the benchmark, let’s quickly take a look at all the numbers:

  • AnTuTu: 6,47,390 (Note more than 50x, F29 Pro and slightly less than Agni 3)
  • Geekbench 6: 1046 (single-core), 3045 (multi-core) (both score notes are more than 50X and F29 Pro but are less than Agni 3)
  • 3DMark Wild Life Stress Test: Best Loop Score – 872; The lowest – 868; Stability – 99.5%

Decision:

Sub- The 20,000 value bracket is currently packed with good options. Some excel in performance, battery capacity, cameras, and so on others. So where does Infinix Note fit 50s? Well, I believe that Note 50s is currently the best all-rounder phone that you can buy in this segment. It brings a luxurious design, a slim and premium-dying body, a tried-end-tasted processor, a clean, advertising software experience, decent camera, a bright amoled display, fast LPDDR5x RAM and reliable battery life.

Keeping in mind the fact that this phone effectively sells to the under 15,000, I do not think honestly that there is a better option right now.
