Infinix HOT 30 5G First Impression in Hindi: New budget smartphone with 6000mAh battery

Infinix HOT 30 5G smartphone was launched in India on Friday, July 14. The smartphone has been introduced in the budget segment. The smartphone is a successor to the HOT 20 5G launched last year and brings some upgrades compared to it. The company has given the recently launched MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC in the new smartphone, which is also present on the recently launched Realme Narzo 60 5G smartphone in the sub-Rs 30,000 category. Apart from this, some changes have also been made in the design. Minor changes are seen in the camera module, but the new HOT 30 5G has a hole-punch in the front as opposed to the dot notch present in the previous version. In terms of price, HOT 30 5G competes with smartphones like Vivo T2x, Poco M4 Pro 5G, iQOO Z6 Lite 5G, Redmi 11 Prime in India. Starting with the design of Infinix HOT 30 5G, an attempt has been made to give the new phone a more premium look compared to the previous model. The edges are slightly less curved than the previous model and the camera module has a glass finish. The company says that it has a glass finish design and the frame is equipped with a chrome finish. The big change in the front of the HOT 30 5G is the presence of a hole-punch cutout compared to the waterdrop style notch present in the HOT 20. Due to the weight of 215 grams, the smartphone feels comparatively a bit heavier. At the same time, with a thickness of 9.9mm, it is also thicker than some of its big competitors in the market. This is slightly more than the 8.9mm thickness of the HOT 20 5G. At the same time, its thickness is also less than the previous model, 7.8mm. The frame is flat and the edges have been made slightly rounded, which makes the in-hand feel a little better. The top and side bezels are thin and the chin is also slightly less than the previous model. Infinix claims that the smartphone is IP53 rated.

The smartphone comes in two color options and the company has sent us the Aurora Blue color variant for review, which looks like a frosted glass finish with glitter. Its special feature is that you see colored lines when light falls on the back panel at different angles. At the same time, you also have a Knight Black color option.

The Infinix HOT 30 5G has a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack and a microphone along with a speaker grill at the bottom. The right side of the phone includes volume rockers and power button, which is equipped with a fingerprint sensor. All these buttons are easy to reach while using the phone with one hand. There is a secondary speaker on the top frame, which provides good sound output in combination with the bottom speaker. There is a triple slot tray on the left side of the frame, in which a microSD card can also be installed along with two SIMs.

The HOT 30 5G gets a 6.38-inch full-HD+ IPS display, which supports 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 580 nits of peak brightness. There is a hole-punch cutout in the top center of the display. The camera supports face unlock. Apart from this, the smartphone has received Widevine L1 certification, which means that it should get HDR content support on most content streaming apps. The company says that it has a DRE (Dark Region Enhancement) feature, which will make it easier to read text on the display even in sunlight. However, we will know how all these features perform only after testing the device thoroughly.

The HOT 30 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC built on a 7nm process, which is being used in most mid-range smartphones these days. This is an octa-core SoC that comes with six power-efficient ARM Cortex A55 cores and two performance-centric ARM Cortex A76 cores. The smartphone runs on XOS 13 version based on Android 13. On first boot, we found a lot of bloatware in it, which included some native apps from the company along with third-party apps like Facebook, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Snapchat, Spotify, WPS Office, etc. However, these can be easily uninstalled.

The smartphone gets an AI-equipped 50-megapixel dual-camera setup. Each sensor is fitted in a large ring-shaped housing and a flash module with quad LEDs is present on its side. The phone has an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling etc. There is also a dual LED flash on the front, which is fitted behind the top bezel, due to which it is not visible. Compared to the HOT 20 5G, the battery capacity in the new handset has been increased from 5,000mAh to 6,000mAh. However, the supported charging output remains the same at 18W as before. Infinix claims that the phone is capable of delivering 53 hours of calling or 21 hours of video streaming or 13 hours of gaming or 35 days of standby time on a full charge.

The smartphone comes equipped with NFC support, storage expansion up to 1TB, dual-band Wi-Fi, IP53 rating, DTS technology, ambient light sensor, e-compass, G-sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor.

The Infinix HOT 30 5G has been launched in two RAM and storage options. The base variant comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, priced at Rs 12,499 and the top model includes 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, priced at Rs 13,499. We have the 8GB RAM variant for review. The phone comes in Aurora Blue and Night Black colour options and will be available for purchase via Flipkart from July 18.

The new handset has been launched at almost the same price at which HOT 20 5G was launched. Certainly, some upgrades are seen in the new handset compared to the previous model. However, there are many smartphone models in the market that have the power to give tough competition to HOT 30 5G.
