How powerful are LG W10 and W30? First look…
The LG W10 has a curved polycarbonate body, but its design is not new or unique. It comes in two color variants – one is Tulip Purple and the other is Smokey Gray. The curved edges ensure good crispness. The LG W10 has a 6.19-inch HD+ display with a notch at the top. The border at the bottom of the phone is a bit thick. LG has not made it clear whether the company has used protective material or not. The display looks vibrant but its viewing angles could have been a little better.
LG W30 looks more premium in the LG W series, it has a gradient finish and glossy back panel. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 has been used on the front and back panel of LG W30. This phone is a bit heavy but it feels premium. The build quality of the phone is also strong.
The LG W30 has a 6.26-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch. There is a notch customization feature in the software, due to which you can choose either a U or V shape. The border at the bottom of the phone is a bit thick, the glossy rear panel is prone to fingerprints. Talking about the display quality, the colors look decent but the panel is a bit reflective.
Both the LG W10 and W30 are powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 processor paired with 3GB of RAM. On the software front, the LG W series phones run on stock Android Pie. All the units we tried were running on the March security patch. Navigating through the UI was smooth but we will get to know more about both phones after testing them.
Talking about the camera setup, LG W10 has a dual rear camera setup. The primary sensor is 13 megapixels. Along with this there is a 5 megapixel secondary sensor with a fixed focus lens. The phone has an 8 megapixel selfie camera. In the camera UI you will get features like Bokeh, AI Beauty and Time Lapse. We took some pictures and we noticed that the camera app has to struggle a bit while locking the focus.
The LG W30 comes with a triple rear camera setup. There is a 13-megapixel primary sensor on the back. There is also a 12-megapixel low-light camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor on the rear panel. The handset has a 16-megapixel camera for selfies. The camera UI of the LG W30 is quite different from the LG W10, and many features have been given in it such as blur control, slow-motion video recording, live filters and night mode.
On paper, the LG W10 competes with the Realme 3 (Review) and Redmi 7 in terms of specifications. Both come with decent hardware and performed well in our review. Interestingly, the LG W30 has three rear cameras and an attractive design. We have reserved our judgment for an in-depth review, in which we will provide you with detailed information about the camera output, performance and battery life.
