After the launch of Realme X (Review), Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro, Realme has now unveiled its latest smartphone Realme XT. Despite the Realme XT having a 64-megapixel camera, this model is not being launched as an upgrade to the Realme X. Many of its features and design are similar to the affordable Realme 5.
Realme has not yet revealed the price of the Realme XT, but it is expected that the price of this model will be between Realme 5 Pro and Realme X. Realme XT does not have a pop-up front camera and all-screen design like Realme X, but many improvements have been made in this latest handset compared to Realme 5 Pro.
Realme XT looks similar to Realme 5 Pro. It also has a vertical camera module on the back panel of the phone along with a waterdrop notch. Gorilla Glass 5 has been used on the front and back panel of this latest smartphone of Realme. For security, the phone has an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Instead of a geometric pattern, the back panel of the phone has a shiny effect. Realme XT has two color variants, Pearl White and Pearl Blue. Both color variants are highly reflective and get stained to some extent. If you tilt the phone a little while holding it in the light, you will see multicolor reflections.
Talking about size and weight, Realme XT is easy to handle. Apart from this, a smoky translucent case will be available in the retail box for better grip. Talking about the screen, the phone has a 6.4-inch full-HD + Super AMOLED panel, after spending some time with the phone, we found it to be bright and crisp.
We know that Realme XT has Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor, the same chipset is also used in Realme 5 Pro. This phone will have three variants – 4 GB + 64 GB, 6 GB + 64 GB and 8 GB + 128 GB. After the camera, the second feature of this phone is VOOC 3.0 fast charging support.
The price of the phone has not been revealed but it is expected that the price between the Realme XT variants can be similar to the price of Realme 5 Pro. At the bottom of the Realme XT is a USB Type-C port along with a 3.5 mm audio jack and speaker. On the left side of the phone are three slots for two nano-SIMs and a microSD card. The power button is on the right side of the phone and the secondary microphone is on the top of the phone.
Our sample unit was running ColorOS 6.0.1 based on Android 9 Pie with July 2019 security patch. We expect it to be updated before launch. The camera mode menu has an Ultra 64 MP mode and we took a few shots. The detail on zooming in on the 64MP image was quite good. We will tell you more about the photo quality in the review.
The other three cameras are exactly the same as what you get with the Realme 5 Pro an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The phone has a 16-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling.
