Washington, 7 April (Reuters) – The White House said on Monday that it is ordering the federal agencies to name the main AI officials and to develop strategies to expand the use of artificial intelligence of the government, which is to re -prepare the orders of the Biden -Yuga, which is aimed at taking security measures on technology.
The management and budget office directed government agencies to implement minimal-risk management practices for high-effects of AI-affected uses and develop a generative AI policy in the coming months.
Memo said, “Agencies should adopt a forward-shock and pro-innovation approach that takes advantage of this technique to help shape the future of government operations,” the Memo said.
The Memo cancels the two orders issued under the former Biden’s former administration of Biden. One of them ordered agencies to adopt security measures and ensure transparency to protect people’s rights and the other demanded a ban on AI acquisition.
Biden’s order also called the agencies to name the leading AI officials.
President Donald Trump has already quashed the 2023 executive order signed by Biden, demanding the developers to reduce the AI risk for sharing data.
Monday’s memo instructs agencies to develop an AI strategy to identify and remove obstacles for their responsible use of AI within six months and develop an AI strategy to achieve enterprise-wide reforms in the maturity of their applications. ”
The White House said it will no longer implement unnecessary bureaucracy sanctions “on the use of innovative American AI in the Executive Branch.
A separate instruction said that the White House wanted to run efficient acquisition of artificial intelligence in the government, “was ordering agencies to focus on interoperability.
Agencies should “maximize the use of American-made AI,” it was said.
The White House stated that the new approach continued to remove the burden reporting requirements and adapted to the acquisition process.
Many government agencies are avoiding the use of AI to address various issues. For example, Federal Aviation Administration, Machine Learning and Language are using modeling to scan event reports and are eating several data sources to highlight the topics of aviation risk.
