Prime Minister Micro -Food Industry Upgrade Scheme

۔ The Prime Minister’s Micro Food Industry Upgrade Scheme (PME) has been created with the aim of providing financial, technical and trade support to small and medium food processing enterprises. Under this scheme, entrepreneurs are provided with debt -related subsidies, technical support and interest under the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund (AIF).

In this scheme, micro businesses have been given many benefits such as debt -linked capital subsidy (35 % of the cost of the project), loan facility (up to Rs 1 lakh loan), interest relief (interest in interest (in interest 3 % rate), technical support that includes product and process development, equipment design, improvement, shelf-LIF and packaging improvement and so on.

The implementation of the scheme in Satna and Mehar
Rural Upgrade Extension Officer Sudha Patel told Local 18 that the scheme was launched by 2025 in 2019-20 and has now been increased by 2026. So far, 30 units have been constructed in Satna and Mehar areas under this scheme. The District Upgrade Department inspects these units and regularly sends the report to Bhopal.

The application process and eligibility
Applications can be made through both online and offline mediums to take advantage of the scheme.
– Online application: PMFME portal.
– Offline Application: In the upgrade office of a nearby development block.

Have the following qualifications terms to apply
– The applicant’s age should be between 18 and 40 years.
– Applicant should not be pensioners or taxpayers.
– There is no advance loan left to the applicant.

Sadha Patel said that due to the scheme, regional food processing industries have increased. Through these units, not only has employment at the local level, but the farmers of Satna and Mehar are also benefiting.
