Coldplay’s last Indian concert: Chris Martin celebrated Republic Day; Bumrah surprise fans in Ahmedabad

“Happy Republic Day, India!” Chris Martin, frontman of Coldplay, started his final performance in the country at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and greeted the crowd, where he touched many hearts by singing patriotic anthem “Vande Mataram”.

It seemed as if a conflict of lights had spread throughout the stadium, as fans had turned on their flashlight to dance to the tunes of the band at their last concert in India, which was streamful live on Disney + Hotstar .

Taking a break from the back-to-back track, Martin addressed the audience in Hindi and thanked them for coming in large numbers from different corners of the country.

“Thank you dear friends. We are very welcome to all our shows. Thank you very much that you have given a chance to perform here. We are very happy to come to Ahmedabad. And Hello, all of you who we have seen on live stream, ‘ He said, there was great enthusiasm from the crowd.

Martin also greeted Indian fans on the occasion of India’s 76th Republic Day.

We know how lucky we are to play in your beautiful country, especially when all the planets are in a straight line and We have the best audience in the best stadium all over the world, “he said.

The singer took a break from his playlist to hum a few lines of the 1997 patriotic track “Maa Tujhe Salaam” by music Ustad AR Rahman.

Martin kept the energy elevated by constantly joining the crowd and taking time to read the signals raised by them. He also noted the requests of the songs performed by the audience and assured them that his favorite tracks were coming.

While performing “Evergreen“Martin invited a young couple on stage to sing with him, and said he came there to represent people coming to every concert.

At one point, Martin announced that he would sing for anyone coming on the screen, as the cameras were roaming on half a dozen faces. In a fickle turn, he adapted to the lyrics of his song “Yellow“Each of them to fascinate.

A great surprise for fans was with the presence of Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumra in the crowd. Increasing enthusiasm, Chris Martin once again changed the lyrics of the song, this time he honored Bumrah’s incredible cricket achievements.

The show marked the band’s closing performance in India as part of the band’s ‘Music of the Sphiers World Tour’. He first performed in three sold shows in Mumbai and organized his fourth concert in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

Coldplay had previously demonstrated at the Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai in 2016 in the country.

The British Rock Band also includes guitarist Johnny Buckland, Basist Gai Beriman, Drummer and Perkusinist Will Champion and Manager Phil Harvey.
