New Delhi. Five years have passed since the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya (Ayushman) scheme. So far about 10 crore people of the country have benefited from it. This scheme providing free treatment facility up to Rs 5 lakh is very useful for the poor people. Hence, the government has prepared major changes in the scheme after 5 years. In the coming time the scope of Ayushman Yojana and its package system will be completely changed. Under this, it is believed that after a certain age limit, everyone, rich and poor, will be given this benefit.
In fact, the Union Health Ministry has advocated for further improvements in the scheme. For this, a committee was also constituted under the chairmanship of Dr. VK Paul, Member (Health), NITI Aayog. The committee will soon submit its report and recommendations to the Ministry of Health and based on this a blueprint for changes in the plan will be prepared. It is expected that the committee is going to submit its report soon.

Prepare to change
It is speculated that more and more hospitals in the country will now be connected under the Ayushman scheme. Hospitals in small towns will also be included in this, so that people can get treatment facilities quickly. Apart from this, preparations are being made to improve the package system of the scheme. Currently, free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh is being provided under the scheme, but the scope can be extended. It is also speculated that this range can be increased from 7 to 1 million.
Bills will be paid soon.
A new system for prompt payment of hospital bills will also be developed under the scheme. After the report, it will be decided which payment system should be devised to facilitate the payment of bills. Apart from this, issues like expanding the scope of the scheme are also being discussed.
Benefit for all people above 70 years of age
The biggest change in the plan is likely to be for seniors. All people above 70 years of age are expected to be covered under this scheme. Its aim is to provide free medical facilities to the elderly. Therefore, age rather than income can make a big difference in treatment. Then middle class seniors will also benefit from it.
