Apple’s future smartwatch may include cameras to enable AI features such as translating signals between languages. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reported the possibility on 23 March, stating that a camera would be added to Apple Watch to enable comparative features for those launched on iPhone 16.
Meanwhile, consumers filed a class-action suit in mid-March, alleging several Apple intelligence features, which were to be enabled by AI in Digital Assistant Siri.
Camera on Apple Watch will add AI-Enabled Ways to interact with the real world
Bloomberg according toApple can add camera and AI features to its line of smartwatch by 2027. The cameras will be inside the performance area on the standard watch and on the edge of the Apple Watch Ultra next to the digital crown and button. If the aim of AI facilities on the watch is similar to the Apple Intelligence facilities enabled by Visual Intelligence on iPhone 16, they can do:
- Combat and copy the text from the images captured by the camera, including translating between languages.
- If you see them in the real world then open an indication to add email address or phone number to contact.
- Find Google where to buy an item directly from the picture of that item.
- Ask chat to interpret unfamiliar diagrams or notes.
Gurman also predicted that Apple is searching for the idea of adding a camera to Airpods.

Apple’s AI Division Shake
Apple has historically taken a cautious approach to AI adoption.
