Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap Recently became clear about his personal and commercial fight, discussed their struggle with alcohol, career failures and difficulties to make it Bollywood As an outsider. Speaking at an event at Annapurna College of Film and Media, he revealed that during one of the most challenging stages of his career, he moved to alcohol and eventually demanded treatment at a de-addition center.
‘I was a addict, Gaya to a de-addiction center’
“I was an alcoholic for a brief period. I was an addictive and I went to a de-addiction center, after which I discovered new details about my writing process,” Affection Shared.
Filmmaker also credited the animated film Hanuman’s return To help her re -connect with her daughter and revive her career. He said, “I was separated at that time and did not meet my daughter for a year. My way of joining her was making an animated film. The film saved me,” he said.
‘Great for seven years of ban’
Given his early years in Bollywood, Anurag admitted that the film families dominated the industry heavy, but were allowed to work behind the curtain as they had “no threats” to the power structure. “I did not ask for credit or money. I was happy to work. For three years, I did ghosts and got only three food in a day, but I learned more than anyone, I could teach me,” he said.
Despite facing restrictions and failures, Gangs of Waspur The director expressed gratitude to those obstacles, assuming that he shaped him as a better filmmaker. “I am very grateful that I was banned for seven years. If I had shown everything in my anger in my state of mind, I would have been done by 2003. Jeevan has humbled me,” he accepted.
A few days ago, Anurag made headlines, making the announcement that he has gone out of Mumbai, citing his “disappointment” with the industry and “how the joy of filmmaking has been sucked.”
