The Indian film industry is mourning the loss of mythological actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar, who died on 4 April 2025 on Friday morning. His death has deeply grieved fans and people across the country, in which the film is receiving tribute from all parts of the world. The ‘Purba and Paschim’ actor was given a state funeral at Pawan Hans crematorium on Saturday. Many Bollywood stars including Abhishek Bachchan, Salim Khan and Arbaaz Khan participated to pay their final honors.

Prayer held in Mumbai
On Sunday, the Cine and TV Artists Association (Sinta) held a quiet prayer meeting in his memory. The gathering took place from 4 to 6 pm in JW Marriott in Juhu. Friends, actor and filmmaker came together to remember and respect the experienced star.

In an official message, Sinta said, “With deep sorrow, Sinta completed the prayer of Shri Manoj Kumar Ji (Shri Harikrishna Goswami) on behalf of Goswami Parivar.” The group also praised its work, ‘They created the nation and all of us are proud of their enthusiasm, vision and cinematic excellence.’

Family and industry members arrive for prayer
Manoj Kumar’s wife, Shashi Goswami, arrived at the prayer meeting with her sons and other family members. Organized to honor the memory of the late actor, the gathering saw the presence of many famous names from the film industry.

Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh and his wife Rukmini Sahe were already to reach the venue. He soon joined producer Ashok Pandit, actor-director Farhan Akhtar, who came with his mother and veteran writer Honey Irani and actress Esha Deol.

All came together to pay their honors, which remember the permanent heritage of the ‘Kranti’ actors and to celebrate the life and contribution of a person who was not only a film icon, but also a symbol of national pride.
