Sony Xperia XZ1 first look
The Sony Xperia XZ1 is certainly the first mainstream smartphone to offer this feature. And going by the launch event on Monday, Sony is trying to attract customers by touting the smartphone’s 3D scanner as its biggest feature. If you’re not interested in 3D scanning, the smartphone’s rear cameras are certainly appealing enough. The 960fps slow-motion capture has been seen on a few other Sony smartphones recently. And the predictive capture with facial expression feature is claimed to be even better. It aims to capture the best of whatever moment you’re shooting.
Talking about the design, the Xperia XZ1 has a good design and it comes with a metal unibody. And Sony has named this one Premium Loop Surface Design. This is a welcome change in the Sony Xperia series and the smartphone gives a more premium feel than the previous variant. The smartphone comes with IP65/68 certification, which means it will be safe from water. And in India, the company has launched a variant with dual SIM support. The phone also has a fingerprint sensor in the power button on the right side.
Another important feature of Xperia XZ1 is its 5.2 inch HDR display. This feature is rarely seen in flagship smartphones till now. This means that content like Netflix can also be viewed smoothly on the phone. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 has been provided to protect the display.
In terms of specifications, the Sony Xperia XZ1 has everything that one would expect from a flagship smartphone. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and 256GB of expandable storage, a 13MP front camera, and a 2700mAh battery.
