Contents
Infinix Note 5 Stylus has a metal unibody which gives it a premium look. Infinix Note 5 Stylus has a 5.93 inch full HD + display but the phone does not have a notch. The upper part of the phone has an earpiece and selfie flash along with the front camera. You will get on-screen buttons for navigation. The back of the phone has a single rear camera setup with dual-LED flash and a fingerprint sensor for security. If the phone is held properly in the hand, the sensor can be used easily.
The back panel of Infinix Note 5 Stylus is flat but the phone can be held easily in hand due to the curved edge on the side of the phone. 3.5 mm headphone jack, micro-USB port, speaker grill and stylus will be found in the lower part of the phone. To take out the stylus, it has to be pressed. Like the stylus found in Samsung Galaxy Note series, a button has been given on it as well. The hand can easily reach the power button but you may need to stretch your hand a little for the volume button. The SIM tray has been placed on the left side of the phone and you will get an 18 watt charger in the retail box.

Let us tell you that Note 5 Stylus is a part of Google’s Android One program. The review handset we have runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and November 2018 security patch. Being a part of Android One, the phone will also get Android Pie update, but at the moment the company has not revealed when the update can be released.
Infinix Note 5 Stylus performance, battery life and camera
The Infinix Note 5 Stylus smartphone did not slow down during multitasking and navigation between menus. The fingerprint sensor provided for security in the phone also works fast. The company has provided Google Smart Unlock support instead of providing its own face unlock software. It is the stylus that makes this device different from the Infinix Note 5.
The stylus proved to be very useful for notes and sketching. The thing to note here is that if you keep the stylus out of the phone for a long time, you will get a pop-up reminder. The company has provided the XPen app in the phone. The app can be opened easily with the help of the button on the stylus. For your information, let us tell you that photos can be clicked with the help of the button on the stylus present in Samsung Galaxy Note 9, but this feature is not given in the stylus given in Infinix Note 5.
Now, let’s talk about benchmark scores. The Note 5 Stylus scored 84,828 in AnTuTu benchmark and 4,475 in PCMark Work 2.0. In Geekbench’s single and multi-core tests, the smartphone scored 832 and 3,509 respectively. The Note 5 Stylus’ score is lower than the Nokia 6.1 Plus, Motorola One Power (Review) and Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 (Review) available at the same price.
In our HD video loop test, the phone lasted for 13 hours and 37 minutes. To recall, Infinix Note 5 gave a backup of 9 hours and 40 minutes. With the help of the 18-watt charger that comes with the phone, the phone’s battery gets charged from zero to 42 percent in half an hour. PUBG Mobile can be played on medium graphics settings. The phone slowed down during gaming, due to which the medium setting had to be set to low. After playing for an hour or more, the battery reduces by 18 percent and the phone starts heating up a bit.
Note 5 Stylus has a 12-megapixel single rear camera setup and a 16-megapixel front camera with selfie flash. In the camera app, users will get features like Panorama, Night, Time Lapse, Professional, Beauty and Portrait mode. Google Lens is also integrated in the camera app. The quality of photos taken by Note 5 Stylus is average. The phone focuses slowly in daylight. Slow focus can disappoint you while taking macro shots. With the help of portrait mode, a good depth effect is achieved in the picture. The camera performance is not very good in low light and grains are visible after clicking the picture. Both the primary and selfie cameras are capable of recording videos at 1080 pixels, but you will not get video stabilization support in the phone.
Our verdict
Being a part of the Android One program, the Infinix Note 5 Stylus is guaranteed to receive regular software and security updates. The phone’s vivid display is quite good and its stylus also proved to be very useful. You will get a stylus in the phone like the Samsung Galaxy Note series. But if you are not fond of using a stylus, then in the budget of up to Rs 15,000, you will get great smartphone options like Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2, Realme U1 (Review).
